Submission Form

submissions

Submission deadline: July 15, 2025

In keeping with the tradition that has developed, there will be no invited speakers. We cordially invite students, postdocs and senior researchers to submit abstracts. Oral presentation slots will be preferentially given to young researchers (students and postdocs). Contributions from companies and startups are welcome. However, they will be treated and selected on the same basis as academic ones, based on the scientific merit and perceived interest to the community. Product demos are not acceptable (consider becoming a sponsor instead!).

The day immediately after SiQEW will feature the one-day International Conference on Spin Shuttling (ICOSS) at the same venue. We are sharing a common submission system. The abstracts will be sorted together to avoid overlap or conflicts between the two events. For shuttling abstracts, please indicate with your submission if you prefer to present at SiQEW, ICOSS, or no preference. This option will present itself when selecting the “shuttling” sorting category at submission.

Submit a one-page abstract, with ~300 words text and 1 figure (8.5 cm high, 13 cm wide). We encourage authors to submit an optional small figure to better portray their results.

Contributed oral presentations

  • 15 minutes + 5 min questions
  • Widescreen format; bring your own laptop and HDMI adapter
  • We expect a large number of submissions, therefore, please understand that we cannot accommodate everyone!
  • Presenters can choose to be offered a poster slot if they aren't selected for a talk (this option doesn't influence the selection process).

Contributed posters

  • Two poster sessions at the workshop
  • Maximum A0 format, portrait (vertical) orientation

Begin your abstract submission here:

  • At submission, choose your preference for oral presentation, poster, or either.
  • Please submit only one abstract per talk/poster.
  • Submitters should be prepared to select the appropriate broad sorting category for their submission. These categories are meant to accelerate the sorting and selection process but do not correspond directly to the scientific sessions. Categories are:
    • Arrays
    • Shuttling
    • Spin-photon coupling
    • Noise characterization
    • Valley or hole physics
    • Materials and/or fabrication
    • 1- or 2-qubit gates
    • Hardware and controllers
    • Automation
    • Dopants
    • New qubit designs
    • Other

Don’t forget to also register! Abstract submission does not constitute a workshop registration.

Selection process

Selections are performed by an international sorting committee led by HRL, UCLA, and ICOSS organizers. Everyone who submitted an abstract will receive notification of their acceptance status (positive or negative).
