Last Updated: 2025-05-11

These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern your registration and participation in the Silicon Quantum Electronics Workshop 2025 ("Conference") hosted by LA Quantum Consulting LLC, a California limited liability company ("Organizer"), and your use of the third-party payment platform, PayPal, to make registration payments and disburse payments to Terranea Resort, the hotel hosting the Conference. By proceeding with your payment, you ("Registrant") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Registration and Payment Process
    1. Registration: Registrant agrees to provide accurate and complete information during the registration process. Registration is confirmed only upon full payment of applicable fees.
    2. Payment Processing: Payment for the Conference registration will be processed through PayPal, a third-party payment provider. By completing the registration, Registrant acknowledges and agrees to PayPal's terms of service and privacy policy.
    3. Payment to Terranea: The Conference fees include payment to Terranea, the hotel hosting the event. The Organizer will process the payment through PayPal and will ensure that the agreed-upon portion is forwarded to Terranea as required.
  2. Conference Cancellation and Refunds
    1. Event Cancellation: The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Conference at its discretion. In the event of cancellation or rescheduling, the Organizer will notify Registrants as soon as possible.
    2. Refund Policy: Refunds are subject to the cancellation terms set forth by the Organizer and Terranea. If the Conference is cancelled by the Organizer or Terranea, Registrants will be offered a refund in accordance with the terms stated in the registration form. Refunds will be processed via PayPal, and any fees incurred through the payment platform or to Terranea may not be refunded.
    3. No Liability for Cancellation: In the event of cancellation by the Organizer or Terranea, the Organizer’s liability is limited to the amount paid by the Registrant for the Conference registration. The Organizer is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by Registrants, including but not limited to travel expenses, accommodation bookings, or other incidental costs.
  3. Limitation of Liability
    1. No Liability for Third-Party Actions: The Organizer is not responsible for the actions or omissions of third parties, including but not limited to PayPal, Terranea, or any other vendor, hotel, or service provider related to the Conference.
    2. Force Majeure: The Organizer will not be held liable for failure to perform under this Agreement due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God; natural disasters, flood, fire, earthquake, or other potential disasters or catastrophes, such as epidemics, pandemics or quarantines; war, invasions, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), terrorist threats or acts, riot, or other civil unrest; government order, law or action; strikes, labor stoppages or other industrial disturbances; and power outages or shortages, or other force majeure events.
  4. Privacy and Data Collection
    1. Data Collection: By registering for the Conference, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data in accordance with the Organizer’s privacy policy. This may include sharing registration information with PayPal and Terranea for processing payments and organizing the event.
    2. Third-Party Platforms: Registrant acknowledges that by using PayPal, their information will be governed by PayPal’s privacy policy and terms of service, not those of the Organizer.
  5. General Terms
    1. Agreement Modifications: The Organizer reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Conference website, and Registrants will be notified accordingly.
    2. Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of California, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule (whether or the State of California or any other jurisdiction).
    3. Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement will be resolved through mediation in the State of California, County of Los Angeles.
  6. Acknowledgment of Acceptance
    1. By proceeding to make your payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  7. Change
    1. Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. Additional terms and conditions will be added as the conference date approaches.
